The whales are here!!! They have been entertaining us for days now, splashing around and leaping right out of the water as they swim north to breed. Sitting down at nippers on Sunday there were at least 4 of them putting on a show. Madi wanted to hire a boat and go play with them, ummm I think not! although a fishing boat was coming in and a whale breached, it looked alarmingly close!!

Madi left at 11pm last night for school camp. They are off to Dubbo and surrounds, an overnight bus trip with 13/14yo's, I shudder to think!!!!! she was very excited though. She is doing her Surf Rescue Certificate at the moment and eventhough I had to drag her there kicking and screaming 3 weeks ago she is having a wonderful time and has gained so much confidence not only in the water but also in herself. She is such a natural at so many things but until she does them she doubts herself, such a waste but you can't live their life for them!

Daz is still working on his laps, how come he can always find the time??? He does 34 a day (it's a 33metre pool) and to do his bronze he needs to do 14 in 9 minutes, he is a sure and steady swimmer and has had to work hard but i think he may have just cracked it!!!

  1. What a beautiful site that photo with the pool in it. That's my kind of swimming, too, not in the sea. Hope you have got photos of the whales ! I have been trying to see them at Hervey Bay (up north, near Bundaberg, Qld) for about 20 years ! I'll get somewhere, someday, if I have to walk LOL
